1Miserable product - unless you like frozen plants
By Living Stereo
In 2006 I bought a Duramax 10x8 greenhouse, so I have used it to get through one winter. It was not purchased through Amazon marketplace but another dealer.

The only thing about this product that is well-done is the assembly booklet, which is quite decent. Each part has a number stamped on it; the instructions reference the parts by number. Nevertheless assembly was an ordeal due to almost every part being out of spec. Holes in parts that were supposed to be aligned to receive a screw or bolt were never in the correct place. Almost every screw required a stuggle to get in. Most of the parts that should be one continuous piece of metal came in two pieces to make it cheap to package, and of course resulted in additional unneccesary extra assembly effort.

The sliding doors do not slide smoothly. The botton of the doors hang on screws in the botton track. There are notches to adjust the height of the doors for this, but even using the highest notch, the doors still required jerking to pass each screw in the bottom track.

I spent an entire day assembling the doors. There were two identical parts (same number stamped on them) for each door. ...but one part was 2 inches longer than the other part with the same number. I did not discover this until I wasted over 2 hours thinking I was not reading the intructions correctly. So I go buy some tin snips to cut off the extra two inches.

There are many seams and gaps in this greenhouse that admit cold air. ...so I had a number of plants die from the cold this past winter AND I LIVE IN NORTH FLORDA. Anyone further north who would need to heat the greenhouse will have to run the heater continuously.

The sliding doors have the bare edge of the polycarbonate panel. I cut my finger on this bare edge yesterday. So today I taking the time to write a lengthy review, hoping to save somebody else the grief I had from this thing.

The metal in this greenhouse is soft galvanized steel, not aluminum. You will need a power driver with a clutch to prevent stipping the holes with the machine screws. There are over 500 sheet metal screws and over 100 machine screws to assemble.

And finally, this greenhouse is made in the United Arab Emirates.

4Good so far

I purchased this product because it was the only one I could find that was really 10x8, not 8x10, and I needed that size. My installer found only one area for complaint in the edges of the roof. Otherwise, he said everything went perfectly. He noticed no bad fits of any kind, and was impressed with the manual. He did say, though, that 4 hours, even with 2 people is WAY wrong. Basically, you build this structure from the ground up. There is NOTHING put together at all. But, it's up, and ready to go. I'm not using it through the winter, but for seed starting in the spring. I would not recommend it for an all-year greenhouse. But it is VERY BIG!! Lots of room for lots of shelves. Can't wait til spring!
