Shovel & Poop
By Bartok Kinski
For the price, you can expect to get about a year's worth of heavy duty use with this 3-Piece Homeowner's Shovel Kit. Nothing as solid as from 40 years ago, but still, for a cheap set, it's adequate for the tea garden enthusiast.
I use mine to help me at my part time job as a mortuary gardener. The 3 Shovels are varied enough to give assistance or support me on many different garden jobs, from digging graves, picking up leaves or resetting small headstones. They break easy so don't use on thick trees or deep, rock earth since they'll crack.
The Round Point Shovel is good for digging in stubborn earth. The Square Point Shovel helps you with bulk soil areas and the Scoop Shovel is great for mounds of deer poop or decayed body parts that have fallen off of dead bodies.
If you're a train coal stoker, a Chimney sweep, or a zoo worker, I'd suggest getting a stronger Shovel Kit.

OK for very light use
By David J. Morgan
These are pretty fragile for any serious digging. If you're dealing with roots or hard ground, the square and pointed shovels will snap in a heartbeat. I put my back into digging out a small root, and I could hear the wood snapping. You do get what you pay for--for the price, it's about what you expect. Good for light duty, but don't do any heavy duty landscaping with it.
